Miss ˮർ contestant with princessesThe University of Arkansas – Fort Smith will host its first-ever Miss ˮർ’s Outstanding Teen Competition at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at ArcBest Performing Arts Center, 55 S. 7thSt. in Fort Smith. This competition will be held in conjunction with the 42nd annual Miss ˮർ Scholarship Competition.

 

The Miss ˮർ’s Outstanding Teen Competition is a qualifier for Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen. Contestants must be a resident of Arkansas between the ages of 13-17 and must not turn 18 before Aug. 1, 2019. Entry fee is $100. The winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship and will compete for the title of Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen in Little Rock this summer.

 

“We are excited to be able to take a program that has been tremendously successful, such as the Miss ˮർ Scholarship Competition, and be able to offer it to teens across the state of Arkansas,” said Stacey Jones, vice chancellor for campus and community events at ˮർ and executive director of the Miss ˮർ and Miss ˮർ’s Outstanding Teen competitions. “The Miss America Organization has just made this available for colleges and universities to begin offering in the last year. We are excited to be able to now send two representatives of ˮർ and our region to compete at the state level.”

Orientation for the Miss ˮർ' Outstanding Teen Competition, as well as the Miss ˮർ and Miss ˮർ Princess program will be held at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Smith Pendergraft Campus Center room 129, on the ˮർ Campus. Program book photographs will also be taken at this time.
