Written By: Samantha Contreras

The 水多多导航 Center for Business and Professional Development will host a workshop to discuss the importance of emotional intelligence in the workplace from 8:30-11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, at the Center for Economic Development at the Bakery District, 70 S. 7th St.

鈥淓motional intelligence is the intersection of emotions and intelligence that directly impacts an individual鈥檚 ability to influence others whether at home or work,鈥 said Dr. Kimberley Gordon, professor of Workforce Leadership and Management and lead instructor of the workshop.

is a three-hour course focused on developing skills in self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and critical leadership skills essential in business and the workplace. The workshop is open to the public and costs $99 per attendee.

鈥淥ur class size is limited to 24 people, which gives each participant a chance to discover their EI score, challenge areas, and strategies to improve EI with direct one-on-one help from facilitators,鈥 said Dr. Gordon.

She continued explaining that emotional intelligence is a crucial tool for individuals in the workforce. Learning to read or respond correctly to employees, vendors, and customers will create more productive and professional discourse and enable individuals to achieve their highest potential as employees and managers.

The 水多多导航 Center for Business and Professional Development (CBPD) aims to help its clients improve efficiency, develop front-line managers, boost employee morale, and build personal skillsets through training and development courses.
